Todd Thomas Brown
Todd Thomas Brown is a multidisciplinary artist whose work has largely focused on experimentation in which he aims to adapt the performance context to facilitate social-cultural encounters. He has 15 years of curatorial experience in music programming, has participated in artist residencies with San Francisco’s de Young Museum and Residencia el Otro Lado (EDELO), in Chiapas, MX., and was a recipient of the de Young Museum’s Artist Fellowship. Todd has been awarded grants in music and theater from the San Francisco Foundation, Zellerbach Family Foundation, and the San Francisco Arts Commission. He is the Founder of San Francisco’s Red Poppy Art House and the Mission Arts & Performance Project/MAPP, a multidisciplinary neighborhood arts festival that has produced over 70 festivals since its inception. Today, Todd continues to work as an independent artist while curating programs for Red Poppy and teaching at the University of the Academy of Art in San Francisco.
